pretty lame tbh.
while a couple of the shirts looked like things scene kids would wear, this was more like "create an anime kid" than anything else. the backing music wasn't even emo, or fake emo for that matter.
still i'll give you a nod for the nice art.
One one hand, the game runs smoothly and the engine clearly works well.
On the other hand, it's bland, it's dull, it's boring, really.
Try doing this:
a) moving the cannon out of the corner,
b) sprucing it up with some more indepth visuals/sound effects
Do the both of these, and you should have a winner on your hands.
Amusing, but musically inaccurate.
Then again, most "emo kids" don't even know what emo is, so that's forgiveable in this instance, since it was infact, mocking them.
The "I've had worse" bits made me laugh, and frankly, the only thing holding this back was the low-caliber art, which still worked fairly well for the style.
The game idea's pretty amusing, The Wade sprite is decent, but the gameplay itself was somewhat lacking. Good effort, though. :)
about damn time!
so much testing, so many betas, so much work and anticipation, and it's finaly finished. fucking rad.
Haha, for real. Thanks.
There's so much irony in this.
Such as it keeping me online half the night, to play a game simulating online life. Hah.
Great game, Shawn. Any plans to expand the hidden crap beyond mods/admin and Bend?
However your actionscript is flawed and the game itself needs to me less turn based and more fast paced.
You can skip enemy attack turns by double clicking the block function.
This has everything it takes to be an awesome game. But the hand control, GAH! Waving the hand about with the mouse was a TERRIBLE idea. You have horrid control of what you can and can't grab, and it's so very easy to accidentally drag the mouse off of the flash window, resulting in instant death. You should have just made it so that the attack button, whenst unarmed, is punch. Then this would've been mush less aggravating.
lots of bugs and pointless shit
Between the crappy extra movies, the crappy graphics, and the fact that the victims, which are fucking DOTS, are badly programmed and thus scream after already dead should you hit the corpse... This game should be blammed.
It's impressive how you packed all that's in there into such a small filesize. The combat engine could use a little tweaking but considering it's flash, I doubt there's a whole lot you can do to make the fights more complex. Your environments are beautifully made, and this game really has an old school arcade feel to it.
Excellent work overall.
